I have a doctorate degree in Psychology from University of London, England. I have training in implementing scientifically proven clinical approaches to treat a variety of mental health conditions. I participate in continuing education to update my knowledge and skills on an ongoing basis. In addition to English, I am proficient in Hindi and Panjabi; understand spoken Urdu and a little bit of Gujarati.
I have practiced psychology in publicly funded organizations and in private practice throughout my career. I have had the privilege of working with hundreds of adults, adolescents, children and families over the years of my practice and witness the joy on their faces as they experience a shift in their mood, thoughts and ways of looking at life. I have primarily worked with conditions such as post-traumatic stress, depression, anxiety, grief, relationship conflict, parenting challenges, emotional and behaviour difficulties in children and youth and difficulties related to life transitions such as divorce, illness, loss, etc. I have supervised multiple masters' and doctoral level interns over the years. Many of the students I supervised are now successfully practicing as Registered Clinical Counsellors and Registered Psychologists in BC. I worked as a Team Leader of a community mental health program with the provincial government in BC for a number of years. I have been a part of the provider network for WorkSafe BC for many years and treat clients dealing with trauma related MVAs and are funded by ICBC.
