What you can expect?
When you come to see me, you can expect to be treated professionally and fairly. You will experience a non-judgmental space to explore your concerns. I strive to create personal and cultural safety for all my clients and I am always happy to answer their questions to the best of my knowledge and ability. Here are some specific details:
- You will sign a consent form for participating in therapy which informs you about the parameters of our work together. It provides an opportunity to understand your rights and responsibilities as a client and ask questions about the process of therapy.
- Your information is confidential and stored securely. It is not shared with anyone without your written consent, or when required by law, such as in situations where there is risk to your life, or life of another. More details are described on the form you sign.
- You will be asked about your current concerns and a brief history in order to have a common understanding of our work together.
- Your sessions will be 50 minutes each. Once booked, you may cancel or reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours prior to your scheduled time. You will be required to pay full fee when you cancel/ reschedule without 48 hours’ notice.
- The current fees are $250 CAD for a virtual 50-minute session and $250 CAD for 50- minute, in- person session. You are required to provide valid credit card information at the time of booking but your card is charged only at the end of your session, or when you miss your appointment without providing a 48 hours' notice of cancellation or reschedule.
- In the event that an outstanding balance remains unpaid after a reasonable period of time (e.g., at least two invoices/reminder letters), your therapist may enlist the services of a third-party agency to collect the unpaid amount. In this circumstance only the minimum amount of identifying information required will be disclosed. None of your clinical information will be disclosed [This is a rare occurrence and is only used when all other avenues have been exhausted].
- Direct billing to select third party payers such as WSBC, ICBC, RCMP, and Pacific Blue-Cross is available. Please discuss this with your therapist at the time of booking.
- Please note that third party insurance companies do not cover the cost of missed sessions or late cancellations. You are responsible for covering full cost of these sessions.
